At some point in time I want to write some scripts to use ExitTool to pull the tags from PSE and write them to the pics in the way I want. The only drawback is that PSE doesn’t write tags to photos very well for Photo Station to pick up.

I didn’t like Google Photos because i didn’t like the lack of control plus I felt burned. I drifted to Picasa and retagged everything. Even then it had good facial recognition and tagging abilities. I first started using PSE 15+ years ago when digital was first taking off. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE) Organizer pointed to my Photo Station /photo folder on my NAS. So basically I'm looking for a photos search engine with the same search quality level as Google photos with two key elements: (so I really don't care if the service compresses the living crap out of all my photos) I don't care about the actual backup feature, I have many solutions for that. Now that it's gone, I'm looking for alternative. (without the need of me tagging that image with the keyword 'snail') My main google photos usage was to upload all my pictures there (6TB) and be able to search for the keyword 'snail' 5 month later and find that specific picture I took in a matter of seconds.
